Role Purpose
The Bookkeeping Specialist is the primary executor of the monthly and year-end accounting close cycle for all assigned clients. This seat is responsible for transaction-level accuracy, timely reconciliation, workpaper documentation, and a clean year-end handoff to the tax team. Quality and timeliness here directly determine whether the Accounting Supervisor can sign off without rework.

Responsibilities
- S0–S3 monthly close — source documents through bank reconciliations
- Bank feed categorization and QBO transaction management
- Keeper portal ASK submissions and client response processing
- Payroll GL entry and reconciliation from provider reports
- YE Pre-close (A1–A3) — setup, scope determination, opening equity tie-out
- YE Books Review (B1–B4) — QBO Prep for Taxes, TB workbook, workpaper links
- S4 self-check — P&L and Balance Sheet review per SOP before requesting Supervisor review
- Seat 3 — Accounting Supervisor (daily direction and review)
- Seat 8 — Client Service Administrator (portal, document handling, client routing)
- Seat 4 — Tax Supervisor (YE handoff timing)
- S4 self-check before submitting to Supervisor
- Final self-check (C1) — all WP links present and Client Note complete
